The Michigan Economic Development
Corporation (MEDC) is excited to announce its first annual Pure Michigan DREAMJOB 2014 summit on June 13, 2014 at Ford Field in Detroit.
This unique, invitation-only
summit will connect leading and emerging Michigan employers with skilled talent
from our state and around the world. DREAMJOB will bring together over 90
Michigan employers (so far) including Quicken Loans, General Motors, Whirlpool,
Chrysler, Bosch, Lear, Nissan, Microsoft, and many more, to meet candidates
using an innovative matchmaking format that pairs qualified candidates with an
employer’s available positions.

How It Works:

interested in.

Step 3: MEDC teams will work
with participating employers to review and select applicants. An
interview schedule will be sent to employers to review and approve.

be sent an interview time(s). Travel assistance may be available.

place June 13, 2014 at Ford Field in Detroit.

D:hive. Each academic year through a series of events, we bring hundreds of
college students to Detroit to experience a full day of activities including an
opportunity to network with potential employers, take an experiential tour of
Detroit, and attend a cultural event. College students gain knowledge of the
exciting things happening here, and can better determine if Detroit is the
place for them after graduation.

Michigan Shifting Gears, an
intensive career transition initiative sponsored by the Michigan Economic
Development Corporation, kicks off three new three-month cohorts on Tuesday,
April 15, 2014. Registration for the Spring 2014 session is open now through
Friday, April 4. The cohorts are taking place in Detroit and two new regions –
Kalamazoo and Gaylord.
An innovative, low-cost career
transition program sponsored by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation,
Michigan Shifting Gears is designed to help you fine-tune your skills to fit
the needs of Michigan’s small businesses and start-ups.
Prior to registration,
interested individuals are required to participate in an informational program
overview and Q&A webinar where they will have the opportunity to ask
questions about the program. Following completion of the overview,
participants will receive a link to register for the program. Anyone
interested in attending the Spring 2014 session must complete the informational
overview and Q&A session, and register no later than Friday, April 4. To

openings for a Sales Representative and a Direct Mail Outside
Sales Representative.
Both
roles will be responsible for securing, maintaining and developing client
accounts, in addition to prospecting for new clients, qualifying leads and
developing relationships. Candidates need to embrace the concept of being
accountable for their own actions, be self-motivated and able to manage their
time efficiently, while demonstrating a consistent bottom line orientation and

Corporation in Roscommon is currently seeking a Controls Engineer and Electrician.
Controls Engineer: Candidates should
be grounded in tooling and equipment, blueprint reading, CAD and work analysis.
Exposure to capital expenditure justifications, plant layout, industrial
automation and direct labor utilization a plus. Candidates should also possess
strong verbal and written communications skills, proficiency in MS Office Suite,
and the ability to function well in a team environment. A four-year engineering
or equivalent technical degree is required, along with three to five years of

Electrician:
Seeking UAW journeyman electrician with experience in the following
areas: electrical construction, electrical maintenance, test and maintain
electronic controls, troubleshooting, repairing and rebuilding electrical
equipment. Specific experience in 200-1000 ton stamping presses, robotics and
welding equipment including controls and software is preferred.
Successful candidates will exhibit skills in PLC controls, safety systems, and
regulations, robotics, basic mechanical comprehension, predictive and
preventative maintenance. Candidates possessing a master electrician license

The
Tri-County Office on Aging in Lansing is
currently seeking a Bridge Care
Coordinator.
Under
the supervision of the bridge care coordinator supervisor, bridge care coordinators
will connect individuals with community resources and medical providers through
a person centered process. Participants will be identified by hospital staff
during the discharge process, meet before discharge with follow-up visits in
the community setting for thirty days. Bridge care coordinators will maintain
communication with appropriate hospital and TCOA staff.
Requirements
include a Master’s degree in Social Work, a current Michigan Social Work
license (and in good standing), and a minimum two years of experience in
healthcare, social services, or a related field, along with clinical experience
with older adults and caregivers.
