Helping Our Heroes

Stories of Michigan's military veterans and the people dedicated to their success.

Todd Hamilton

Todd Hamilton felt secure in his job as a route driver and salesman with Interstate Brands Corporation. After working there for five years, he was shocked when the company unexpectedly closed in 2012. At the time of closing, the employees were certified for the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program.

After months of job searching, Todd realized his lack of skills and experience was limiting his opportunities. If he wanted to return to the workforce and be successful, he would need additional training. Through consultation with the TAA and Work Force Investment (WIA) Skill Managers at South Central Michigan Works! Todd enrolled in the Academy for Manufacturing Careers in the CNC certificate program.
