We're neck and neck with a New York state park, so show your mitten love! Spread the word by sharing it on social media, voting daily, and voting from every device (tablet, phone, computer). Contest runs through Monday, March 30 at 11:59 a.m.

Remember, spring in Michigan can be unpredictable, so be sure to check the weather and dress in layers so you can fully enjoy your outdoor adventure!

Celebrate the stars April 13-18 with International Dark Sky Week

Several state parks will remain open late for night sky viewing, and some parks will host special astronomy events during the week of April 13-18. Here's a list of participating parks:

Port Crescent State Park, call park for details
Rockport State Recreation Area, April 17, 6 p.m.
Lake Hudson Recreation Area, April 18, 9 p.m.
Ludington State Park, April 18, 7 p.m.
