DNR offers steelhead fishing clinic March 28-29 in Cadillac
The Carl T. Johnson Hunt and Fish Center in Cadillac, Michigan, will host the Department of Natural Resources Steelhead Clinic Saturday, March 28, at 9 a.m. Presented by the Hunt and Fish Center pro-staff, the five-hour class will cover various strategies and techniques for chasing Michigan’s "chrome torpedoes."
The class will reconvene at daybreak Sunday, meeting at Tippy Dam State Park on the Manistee River, for the hands-on fishing portion of the clinic.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own gear, if possible, both days. For those new to steelheading, there will be a Saturday afternoon trip to a local tackle shop to get outfitted.

The Carl T. Johnson Hunt and Fish Center is located in Mitchell State Park. A Recreation Passport is required for entry into the park.
A second steelhead clinic will be offered the second weekend in April for those who are interested but cannot make the March date.
Lodging is available nearby at Pilgrim Village, the Sands Resort, Days Inn, Evergreen Resort, or Mitchell State Park.
