The Remediation and Redevelopment Division of the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality is pleased to announce that the Michigan Environmental Mapper which provides users information on known sites of contamination and land resource use restrictions across Michigan has a new look and is “going mobile.” Starting Monday, December 1st , the Michigan Environmental Mapper will have a new look with updated functionality available to users on the web.

The new mobile version for smart phone and tablets, although not as robust as the desktop version, will allow users to locate and identify sites of contamination along with looking into land resource use restrictions on the go. The geo locator function will allow the environmental mapper to automatically zoom into your location and with a few simple clicks you will be able to identify known environmental hazards in your area. Using this information along with the desktop version will allow users to search, identify and obtain information pertaining to their sites of interest.
