In addition to funding, the Coastal Program offers technical assistance and guidance to grantees.

Past grantees have received awards to implement public access projects, protect coastal habitat and water quality, research coastal ecosystems, and create zoning plans incorporating Great Lakes water resources. The projects for this cycle will begin in the program's Fiscal Year 2019, which starts in October, 2018.

The program estimates that $700,000 in funding will be available in this grant cycle. Complete applications must be postmarked or hand-delivered no later than the December 15, 2017 deadline.
