Woodswise Wire
Saturday Nov 1st , 9:00 am – 11:00 am
Pruning has all kinds of benefits like improving
aesthetics, creating usable recreation trails, and significantly increasing the
future value of growing timber. On Saturday November 1, 9-11am, at Hidden
Valley Nature Center (HVNC) in Jefferson forester Paul Miller will lead a
workshop on proper pruning techniques. This workshop will cover pruning tools,
which species to prune and why, the financial incentives involved in pruning,
and will feature plenty of time for participants to try out different saws themselves.
A significant portion of this morning workshop will be hands-on. Paul has
decades of experience as a consulting forester and environmental consultant in
mid-coast Maine, and is a representative for the premier pruning saw company
Silky. Space is limited for this workshop and advance registration is required.
Registration and details are available online at http://hvnc.org/registration/.
The cost is $12 for HVNC members and $15 for non-members.
