Visit an active harvest tour of a woodlot in Grand Lake stream, owned by Ed and Jill McGrath. The timber is processed and forwarded by a single machine, with a single operator. The result is a low impact machine, with an even lower impact harvesting technique.

Where: From the intersection of the Milford Road and Route 1 (In Indian Township), continue on the Milford Road until your cross into GLS Plantation. The Tree Farm will be almost immediately on your left.

The 2014 annual Tree Farm/SWOAM field day, honoring this year’s Maine Outstanding Tree Farmers, Bambi Jones and Tracy Moskovitz (founders of Hidden Valley Nature Center), will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2014, at the Hidden Valley Nature Center. Come out and enjoy a day of fun for the whole family, including: equipment and logging demonstrations, educational talks and tours, live music, exhibitors and vendors, arts & crafts tent, special games for kids, lunch and other refreshments.
