Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett will announce the launch of a transit screen project for public buildings. The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) pilot initiative has installed two screens that provide real-time information about all types of public transportation options that are available near a particular location.

MCDOT hopes to install screens in other public buildings, such as regional service centers, libraries and recreation centers.

Joining Leggett will be MCDOT Acting Director Al Roshdieh, Division of Transit Services Chief Carolyn Biggins, Chief Innovation Officer Dan Hoffman, Economic Development Acting Director Sally Sternbach and Ryan Croft, cofounder and chief operating officer of TransitScreen.

Photo Opportunities:

In addition to the unveiling of TransitScreen, two Ride On buses will be available in the Executive Office Building circle. Leggett will highlight ad campaigns on each of the buses; one promoting Ride On’s 2014 award from the Transportation Association of Maryland as best large bus system of the year, and the other encouraging the public to “See Something, Say Something,” which is a regional campaign funded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
