TARC PROVIDING SERVICE TO THE FAIR

TARC Providing Extra Service to State Fair Regular TARC Fares apply; price does not include admission

TARC once again is providing service between downtown Louisville and the Kentucky State Fair. The special service will run all 10 days of the fair, Aug. 14-24.

Buses headed to the fair will depart from the TARC stop at Fifth and Market Streets every 60-70 minutes from 6:30 a.m. – 11 p.m. The last bus from the fairgrounds to downtown Louisville will leave at 11:58 p.m. daily. Passengers should look for buses

displaying the destination sign, "2 - State Fair."

The fairgounds TARC stop will be on Circle of Champions opposite Broadbent Arena. State Fair complimentary trams will transport TARC passengers to and from this stop to fair locations.

Additional TARC service near the fairgrounds is available on Crittenden Drive (Route 2) and Preston Highway (Route 18). Buses on those routes do not enter the fairgrounds.

Regular TARC fares apply on all trips. A one-way adult trip is $1.75, students ages 6-17 and seniors with a TARC ID can ride for 80 cents and children 5 and under are free.

TARC trips do not include admission to the fair, which is collected before the bus enters the fairgrounds. Passengers are urged to have their admission ready prior to entering the fairgrounds. Admission is $10 per adult, $6 for children ages 3-12 and seniors and ages 2 and under are free. TARC riders avoid paying the $8 parking fee.

Green Institute

Center For Neighborhoods is excited to announce that we are NOW accepting registrations for the Green Institute!! 
Each Tuesday night:

The Green Institute is an environmental leadership-education program established in 2012 by the Center For Neighborhoods, a non-profit civic organization. 

The Green Institute equips neighborhood leaders with the skills and resources needed to improve the environmental, social and economic resilience of their communities.    

Mission:  The Green Institute helps the communities of Louisville leverage their collective strengths to take a quantum leap in addressing important issues related to the economy, energy and the environment in ways that improve their residents' long-term health and quality of life.   

Ben Evans, director of YERT: Your Environmental Road Trip, along with Alex Molina, Urban Planner, will facilitate the Green Institute!

Dinner is provided each week.   

All participants are expected to arrive promptly between 5:50 - 6:00 pm.  

It is strongly encouraged that you attend each session!

We will share watermelon, teach container gardening basics, install rain barrels and begin raised bed pre-work.
