Metro Council Community Group Nights at the Louisville Bats!

Louisville Bats

Councilwoman Cindi Fowler has teamed up with the Louisville Bats to provide tickets to deserving groups in our community for selected Bats games. Metro Council Monday tickets are available to non-profit organizations, charitable groups, and volunteer organizations working to improve the community.

If your organization is interested in receiving tickets for one of the selected Metro Council Monday Bats home games, contact Kate McGuire in the Bats office via e-mail at kmcguire@batsbaseball.com. Please reference your Metro Council District, the name of your organization and the number of tickets being requested when contacting the Bats office. Thank you for playing a vital role in our community and Go Bats!

Family Swim Nights

Family Swim Nights at Sun Valley Park returns this summer!

This is a fantastic opportunity for parents who work during the day to bring their children to Sun Valley to swim after regular hours for free!

WHERE: Sun Valley Park Swimming Pool, 6505 Bethany Lane

WHEN: Tuesdays starting June 17th - July 29th; 6 p.m.- 8 p.m.

Free Admission. Parents or Guardians MUST be present with children at all times. No drop-offs permitted.

Support your local economy at the Southwest Farmers Market starting June 7th!

The Farmers Markets features local Kentucky Proud products starting in June and runs through the end of October.

It’s held every Saturday at Valley High School, 10200 Dixie Highway.

Metro Arts Center Class Schedule

Metro Arts Center

Wide variety of affordable classes in art, music, photography

The Metro Arts Center offers classes in the fine and applied arts for youth, teens, adults and seniors. Pottery, painting, photography, cartooning, silversmithing, and more—there’s something for everyone, and all skill levels are welcome. 

Classes typically meet once a week for eight weeks (there are some shorter-term classes), with fees ranging from $45 to $110.

Urban Garden

Would your community group, neighborhood association, or faith-based group like to learn more about safe soil practices? 

The Center for Environmental Policy and Management at the University of Louisville is partnering with the Jefferson County Extension Service and Louisville Metro to provide local residents with information about soil testing, best soil practices, and general gardening resources. We can present at your regularly scheduled meeting or at another time that suits your group.

Benefits of our Safe Soils Program:
-Learn simple but important practices for keeping your gardens safe and healthy 
-Meet others with shared interests in urban gardening
-Discover resources available to support safe urban gardens in your community
