“The South End has extreme cultural diversity. With UofL a hop away, the business district is growing and could benefit from many different small businesses. It’s a regular topic among our neighborhood associations, most commonly the want for a microbrewery/restaurant. Possibilities are endless in the South End!" -Cindy Venture, Owner of Beechmont Bombshells
LIBA (Louisville Independent Business Alliance) is working with the City of Louisville to support and grow independent businesses in South Louisville, and we want to hear from you about the businesses you want in your neighborhoods.
Independent businesses are owned by Louisville-area residents and are unique to our city (ie. not a chain). They contribute to the distinctive character of our neighborhoods and keep more dollars circulating within our community. Some examples include places like: Heine Brothers’ Coffee, Stock Yards Bank, Khalil’s, LeLe’s Boutique, Wild and Woolly Video, etc.
Please take a minute to take the South Louisville survey. This will help gather info about the types of businesses residents want to see in their neighborhoods.

Kynect will allows Kentuckians access to health insurance plans
Kynect is the Kentucky Health Insurance exchange established by the Affordable Care Act and provides a hub for Kentuckians to shop and compare health care plans for themselves and their families.
The website provides information on tax credits, federal subsidies, and private insurance plans that participate in the Kynect system, and allows individuals to compare plans that suit their needs.
Under the ACA, all individuals must carry health insurance beginning January 1, 2014 and Kynect allows you to find affordable options to meet that obligation.
PLEASE NOTE: March 31, 2013 is the FINAL day to enroll in coverage. You will not have an opportunity to sign-up until the next open enrollment period. Visit the Kynect Health Exchange website at kynect.ky.gov for more information or to enroll in a health plan
