Get Connected!

Together we create a great, connected community!

get connected!

Dear Friends,

You are on my mind and I want to let you know we are working diligently to prepare our community for the worst possible scenario as each day brings more challenging news our way. A wise woman once told me, “Prepare for the worst and hope for the best! HOPE is a powerful word and it is necessary to sustain us in times such as these. Faith in ourselves and in each other will go a long way in keeping us together.

“Faith is the substance of things hoped for,

the evidence of things not seen.”

  3. Thunder Over Louisville will be August 15 with no date yet for Pegasus Parade or miniMarathon.

Day by day please know our spirit is strong and as a community we will once again rise up to the challenge the same way we did  when Muhammad Ali passed. One man, lived 74 years, 25,000 people visited the Ali Center, 15,000 people attended the memorial service whilst 135 countries watched us in amazement.

Today is our day – now is the time – to be our best.

Together today – stronger tomorrow!

Peace to you always,

Census 2020

census

Census forms are arriving in the mail.  Census data is used to determine how many representatives each state gets in Congress, how many districts each state has, and how much federal funding states and counties receive, in addition to other things.

You can go online and complete the census. You can also call 1-844-330-2020 to complete the survey over the phone as soon as you receive the invitation. The best way to avoid a visit from a census taker is to fill out the 2020 Census questionnaire online, by phone, or by mail as soon as you receive your invitation to participate.  We urge you to do so by April 1, to limit person-to-person contact as the coronavirus continues to spread. The census website is here: https://my2020census.gov/.

Here’s the schedule, subject to change (like everything else these days).

  • March 12-20        Invitations mailed
  • March 16-24        Reminder letters sent
  • March 26-April 3  Reminder postcards
  • April 1                  Census Day
  • April 8-16             Hardcopy Census mailed
  • April 20-27           Final postcards mailed
  • May 1                   Non-response follow-ups begin
