Councilman David A. James would like to invite all to attend the California Neighborhood Town Hall meeting on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 from 5:30pm to 7pm.
This meeting is being put together to discuss the Proposed Methane Plant Project in West Louisville along with Anaerobic Digestion Technology. There will be a panel available to provide information and answers to questions about the Methane project.
All are welcome to attend the open meeting. The California Community Center is located at 1600 West St. Catherine Street.

October 16th. Turkey Run Park opens!
Where: The Park stretches from Seatonville Rd. to Broad Run Rd.
What is it: 800 acre park with an extensive trail system for hiking, mountain
biking and paddling, as well as the Brown Forman Silo Center, which will be
another popular gathering spot.

Sunday,
October 18th. Cyclouvia on Bardstown Rd.
Where: Bardstown Road and Baxter Avenue between Broadway and Douglass
Boulevard.
What is it: Cyclouvia is modeled after a program in Bogotá, Colombia, where for
30 years, citizens have enjoyed weekly car-free streets. So take a stroll, run,
or ride down one of Louisville's bustling urban corridors, not on the sidewalk,
but right down the middle of the street. Many businesses along the corridor
will be open and offering specials for the event. The events are also intended
to help promote healthy lifestyles, alternative transportation options and
bicycle and pedestrian safety. TARC routes along the corridor may be slightly
modified for the afternoon.

The
Fall Ride Series rolls on with Bicycling for Louisville!
The next tour is this Saturday, October 17th at 2:00pm. They will be touring
the riverfront in West Louisville, learning about the ecology, the park system,
and also the many vacant lots in the area from our tour guide Carolyn Waters.
The ride will begin and end at ReSurfaced, at 10th and Rowan.
The
final ride will be Saturday, October 24th at 12:00pm. Led by B4L's Chris
Glasser, we'll tour some of the hidden nooks and crannies of South Louisville,

Resurfaced
The popular ReSurfaced will return for one weekend in October at a new site
near 10th and Rowan streets along the Ohio River.
When: Oct. 15-17
“ReSurfaced: Three Days at 10th Street” will be held in a parking lot under the
I-64 overpass near the city’s newest public art project called
Connect/Disconnect. It will feature music, art, food, DJ’s and a special Fried
Chicken Throwdown cook-off.
“People
loved the first two ReSurfaced projects on West Main Street and they will also
love this new site that brings a completely different feel and vibe – with the

Public Meetings:
Two public meetings will be held to discuss
plans for the installation of new bike lanes along Twelfth and Thirteenth
streets between Rowan and West Kentucky streets, and along West Kentucky Street
between Eighth and Twelfth streets.
The
public meetings are:
Wednesday, October 21 from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm
Thursday, October 22 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm
Both meetings will be held at 1000 West Broadway at TARC on the first floor of
Union Station

National Take Your Parents To Lunch Day- National Take Your Parents to Lunch Day changes annually. During this event, parents will visit their children’s school and have lunch with them in the school cafeteria. The goal of National Take Your Parents to Lunch Day is to learn more about what goes into putting together a healthy lunch and for parents and school official to open the lines of communication so they can work together to provide kids with the healthiest meals possible.
