Research illustrates that when a community comes together, violence reduces over time. Every person in our city has the opportunity to help reduce violence by getting involved in activities such as the following (click on the picture to learn more):

Thirteen community members have come together to serve as an accountability measure for the One Love Louisville Community Plan which is managed by the Office for Safe and Healthy Neighborhoods. This plan was created by a collective of 150 community members and thus we believe that it is important to have community members continue to lead and guide it's implementation! Thank You Center for Women and Families!
Center for Women and Families re-dedicated it's Joan E. Thomas campus on Friday, July 30, 2015. The campus has been under renovation for the past year and has required the relocation of all staff and services from this location for the past 15 months. The Center offers services to all survivors of intimate partner abuse or sexual violence and has been serving our community since 1912. Read more.
Thank You 2015 Healing Futures Fellows!
Congratulations to the students who graduated from the Louisville Metro Department of Pubic Health and Wellness' Center for Health Equity's 2015 Healing Future Fellowship Program! These students graduated on July 30, 2015 and gave 6-minute presentations where they gave policy recommendations on the following topics: Injury and Violence Prevention, Health Equity, the Environment and Racial Healing and the Media. Mayor Fischer Talks Community Policing at White House
Mayor Fischer along with LMPD Chief Conrad, Safe and Healthy Neighborhoods Director Smith and others attended a forum at the White House on July 23, 2015 to participate in a robust conversation on community policing. Read More.

Investing in Young Men of Color as Community Assets

- The 13 One Love Louisville Community Goals became active on January 1, 2015.
- A data plan is currently being drafted and will be released by September 30, 2015.
- One Love Louisville goals 1-4 were reported out on July 17, 2015. Initiative leads provided current progress, actions and next steps.

My Brother's Keeper Louisville (#MBKLou)

Office for Safe and Healthy Neighborhoods and Mayor Greg Fischer released their One Love Louisville My Brother’s Keeper Plan (MBKLou) to the White House, MBK Alliance and community on July 20, 2015 – a plan to help young people, specifically young men and boys of color, stay on track. Read more.
