LG&E will be working in the Pleasure Ridge Park community in the remaining Spring and Summer 2015. The work in the PRP area will include replacing poles, transformers and conductors, and trimming tree branches that have grown into or near the overhead electric lines.
Residence who will be effected by this work should also be notified directly by LG&E in the near future. Each property owner should understand that crew trucks will be in the area and that the potential of brief power outages could occur. Safety concerns have been addressed, and property owners are being asked to keep a safe distance from LG&E trucks and equipment while crews are onsite.
LG&E will make every effort to complete this work in the most efficient manner and continues to meet it's ongoing commitment to providing safe and reliable services to their customers.

TARC is seeking public comments on service changes including
less frequent bus service on its three most popular routes to help cut costs in
the upcoming fiscal year which begins July 1st. Citizens can comment
through Friday, May 22nd by mail, e-mail, phone, Facebook or Twitter or attend
public meetings held by TARC.
The proposed service reductions, which would save $1.2 million
next fiscal year, would take effect Sunday, August16th.
Even with the reductions, buses would still arrive at stops
every 13-15 minutes on the busiest stretches of Fourth Street (Rt. #4),
Broadway (Rt. #23), and Dixie and Preston highways (Rt. #18) from 6 a.m.
through the evening rush hour on weekdays.
On Dixie Highway south of Heaton Road, bus frequency on weekdays
will be reduced from every 15 to every 30 minutes.
“Federal grant funding for TARC’s three frequent service routes
ended more than a year ago and we simply can’t afford to continue the level of
frequency we have had, but we will still maintain good frequency,” Barker said.
Ways to comment...

Help your community by recycling! Our landfills are a finite resource with only so much space to hold all of our community's trash. Recycling as much as possible keeps reusable materials from going to the landfill and extends the landfill's life. Councilwoman Fowler has partnered with Solid Waste Management to provide a Recycling Bin at Sun Valley Park to allow Southwest residents to dispose of recyclable materials for FREE!
(Only Paper, Cardboard, Plastic, and Glass are allowed. No hazardous materials or containers are permitted.)
