The Indiana Genealogical Society (IGS) is offering a $500 Library Staff Educational Scholarship. To be eligible you must work in a library in Indiana help library patrons with genealogy research at least 25% of the time the library is open, and have a minimum of three months experience working in genealogy.
The purpose of the scholarship is to help cover the expenses of attending a genealogy education event, such as a conference, seminar or workshop. The winner will be recognized during the IGS annual conference in Terre Haute, Indiana on Saturday, April 25, 2015.

Are there any emerging leaders that are making a difference in your community? The Library Journal is requesting your help in the identification of innovative and creative individuals who are making a difference in the library community.
This year marks the 14th annual Library Journal Movers and Shakers edition. This year 50-plus individuals will be selected to be the focal point of the March 15, 2015 issue of the Library Journal. Since the award's inception, twelve Indiana librarians have received this honor.
To submit your nomination use the online form. The deadline to submit nominations is November 7, 2014.

The 9th annual Genealogy & Local History Fair, sponsored by the Indiana Library Foundation, was held last Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the Indiana State Library. This year’s event was a great success. We would like to thank all the volunteers, vendors, staff, speakers, and all who attended.
