MIS Director Adam Bowling is leaving ISL after six years of service

Adam Bowling

Adam Bowling is leaving the Indiana State Library after six years of service to become IT Manager at Emmis Communications in Indianapolis. Adam began as MIS Director at the Indiana State Library in August 2008, at which time he also assumed the role of Evergreen Indiana technical coordinator.

“I’m excited about my new job and company, but there’s a lot about the library I’m going to miss.  I’ve had the opportunity to interact with many great co-workers, as well as fantastic people across the state in libraries large and small. The toughest part is going to be parting from the ISL MIS staff.  I’ve never worked with a better group of people than the assembly of talent we have now.  I hope I get the chance to work with people on par with them in the future. I’d like to thank everyone who has supported Evergreen Indiana, MIS, and me over these years. It’s been touching to hear from so many folks who reached out to me upon hearing of my departure.”

PastPerfect Workshop being offered at the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library

On September 19th Joan Hostetler and John Harris of Historic Photo and Research Services will be at the New Albany-Floyd County Public library to give a half day introductory level workshop on how museums and libraries can use the content management software Past Perfect to catalog and share their historic collections with their community.

Used by over 9000 museums and libraries, Past Perfect is affordable, comprehensive, and easy to use.  Starting at $696 and easily customizable , Past Perfect is an affordable option for small libraries and museums to start working on digital projects.

Heritage Photo & Research Services has been working on Past Perfect projects for many years.  Most recently they just finished an IMLS grant in which they digitized and cataloged over 7,000 photographs from the collection of the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library for inclusion into an online database that was created using PastPerfect Online.

Please contact  Matt Eidem, Archivist, New Albany - Floyd County Public Library  at 812-949-3520 Ext . 133 or
