Northwest Ordinance Day
July 13 is Northwest Ordinance Day. We celebrate the adoption of the Northwest Ordinance as a part of Indiana's road to Statehood.

IHB Staff are working hard behind the scenes, verifying data on file for each of our nearly 600 State Historical Markers. We hope to have the new historical
marker search tool ready for a public beta test this summer!
The tool's quick search feature displays basic location and status information for markers. Plus, there's an in-depth detail page
for each State Historical Marker that will let you dig deeper and learn more. Here's a little sneak peek!
Upcoming Marker Dedications
The following markers are slated for installation and dedication in the Fall:
- Helen Gougar (Tippecanoe Co.)
- Virginia Meredith (Wayne Co.)
- Ahavath Sholom (Noble Co.)
- Samuel Plato (Grant Co.)
