Register Today for the Family History Scan-A-Thon

The Indiana State Library’s Genealogy Collections is hosting a Family History Scan-a-thon on Thursday May 22, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm (EDT). Registration is required for the free public event and individual appointments will be scheduled upon registration.

The event is open to all Hoosiers who would like to have a digital copy of their family photos, histories, or vital records. Genealogy Collection staff will scan the documents and give participants back a digital copy and the original. The library will keep a copy and also upload it to Indiana Memory. The file can then be accessible to anyone with access to the internet. The mission of the program is to make available family histories, records and photos to a worldwide audience and preserve Hoosier family histories.
