Help Preserve Indiana History
The Indiana State Library relies on the help of its super team of volunteers whose time and talents are essential to the preservation of library materials and the administration of statewide library services. Volunteering at the Indiana State Library
provides a friendly environment in which volunteers work alongside staff to
provide enhanced access to the library collections, services, and programs.
Volunteers have the satisfaction of helping to complete projects that could
not be done without them. Many of the projects involve working with unique
historical materials and unusual collections which are held in the Library. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the preservation of Indiana history and
enhance access to Indiana's heritage.

Serve Visually- Impaired Hoosiers
The Indiana Talking Book & Braille Library relies on the help of volunteers throughout the year. They currently seek volunteers as narrators, monitors and reviewers to provide high-quality Talking Books for Hoosiers with visual impairments.
The Talking Book & Braille Library's Indiana Voices project focuses on recording books and magazine
articles with Indiana connections that are otherwise unavailable in an audio
format. Indiana Voices materials are produced in the Ruth Lilly Recording Studio, which
currently produces digitally-mastered, high-quality works made standard by the
National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped.
