The Indianapolis Indians made a visit to Riley Children’s Hospital this season, expecting to visit with kids, sign some autographs, and take a few pictures. They didn’t expect to have the emotional experience they did when they walked into the room of 3 year old patient Kolton Mitchell ...
"... Some of the players gave him a hug goodbye to cheer him up, while getting slightly emotional themselves ..."

Last week, just after the Blue Jacket Clothing Company opened at 10:00 a.m., I went outside to view the newly donated signs that the clothing store committee created. Most of the summer flowers on our grounds were in full bloom with the garden finally sprouting fruit.
"... Last month his immediate family including his children, who are often the unseen victims of any crime, came in to visit Jerry and his accomplishments inside of the store. This was a display of forgiveness that we seldom get to witness ..."
Two graduates tended to the watering and cultivation of the garden beds, they waved as I passed. With over thirty students in class, cars packed the parking lot. The campus was alive ...

From the beginning of my service at Stepping Stones I have worked with an individual name “Craig.” Even though I have worked with Craig from the beginning of my service it hasn’t been until recently that we have established a positive and working relationship. Our Director of Programs, Holly Brauneller, will be leaving OFBCI soon. Here are some of her thoughts ...
"I wanted to let you all know that I resigned from my position at the OFBCI. I have accepted a position at the Department of Workforce Development where I will be working on their adult education initiatives ... Although it’s difficult to leave a position where I am fortunate to work on projects that I am so passionate about like AmeriCorps, HoosierCorps, and Mitch’s Kids, (and I get to work with people that share my passion), I think this move will be a great opportunity for me. I am hopeful that I will still get to work with some of you in my new role—it’s a small Indiana so I’m sure that many of our paths will cross again."
In addition, our interns, Elizabeth Higgins and Megan Ellis, have completed their time with OFBCI.
We will miss each of them very much and wish them continued success in their careers!
