Arts Commission Approves Grants for 39 Hoosier Artists

IAC logo

Thirty-nine artists throughout the state will receive career development assistance through the Indiana Arts Commission's Individual Artist Program (IAP) grants for Fiscal Year 2014.

The IAC earlier this year accepted grant applications from artists in the performing arts for projects in dance, theatre, literature, music, as well as from folk and access artists for projects related to these traditional disciplines. As in years past, artists could request up to $2,000 for career development assistance.

"These individual artists represent the heart of the creative economy in our state," said IAC Executive Director Lewis C. Ricci. "Their projects supported by these grants help them further their career development, but also provide opportunities for their talents to be shared in their communities through exhibitions, demonstrations, and instructional opportunities."

A complete listing of the FY2014 grant recipients and their project descriptions can be found at: www.in.gov/arts/2768.htm.
