ICRC, MLK Holiday Commission to host 25th Dr. King Holiday Celebration
The Indiana Civil Rights Commission and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Indiana Holiday Commission have announced the State of Indiana's 25th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Indiana Holiday Celebration to take place on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the Indiana Statehouse. PROBABLE CAUSE FINDINGS
ICRC Issues Charge Against Lowe's Home Centers Com Respondent hired Complainant as a customer service associate in April of 2013. Complainant, along with other customer service representatives, was required to work rotating schedules that varied throughout the week. Evidence shows that in March 2015 Complainant brought a doctor's statement to Respondent's HR manager requesting that she be assigned a regular work schedule consisting of morning mid-shifts to assist with her medical condition. Landlord Charged With Not Providing Reasonable Accommodation Complainant signed a lease agreement with Respondent on or about October 1, 2014. The lease prohibited pets and explicitly provided that “no pets shall be on the premises.” While Respondent denies that Complainant requested a reasonable accommodation to have an emotional support animal on the premises or that he was aware of a doctor’s statement in support of the request, evidence discovered during the course of the investigation contradicts this assertion... more
