Volunteering and Civic Life in America
All types of Americans are serving in a variety of ways. From young students to
seniors - Americans are making a difference through traditional nonprofits, by
serving informally in their communities, and creating their own service projects.
The Volunteering in America data shows that 62.6 million Americans across the
country volunteered to help change the course of their communities.
Fact #1: Volunteering remains strong.
Fact #2: Volunteering benefits those served and the volunteers themselves.
Fact #3: Volunteers are twice as likely to donate to charity as non-volunteers.
Fact #4: Everyone can volunteer, regardless of age.
Fact #5: Over the past 13 years, volunteers have made a huge impact.
