Walgreens Faces Disability Discrimination Charge

A Walgreens store in Lake County hired Complainant as a shift lead in November 2014. Complainant had a disability that impaired one or more major life activities. During the course of her employment, Complainant alleges that her manager told her that she should not work with the public because she may “snap,” and that “no one really wants you since…folks think you crazy.” Ultimately, Complainant resigned her employment after being told by her manager that she could choose between “dealing with the treatment” or quitting the job... more

Ascension Health at Home Charged With Pregnancy Discrimination
Complainant worked for Ascension as a Home Health Aide. During her employment with Ascension, Complainant sustained a workplace injury on or about July 29, 2015. Complainant visited Ascension’s medical center and was permitted to return to work with a lifting restriction of no more than 20 pounds, a pushing/pulling restriction of no more than 50 pounds of force, and a bending restriction of no more than three hours a day. Complainant also stated that the medical center suggested she see her personal physician for further information... more
