Mo'Ne Davis added as speaker to 2015 NACW Conference

Indianapolis, July 10, 2015 —  Little League phenomenon, Mo’Ne Davis, has been added to the list of plenary speakers at the National Association of Commissions for Women’s (NACW) 45th Annual Conference and Empowerment Summit. She will speak on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at 12:30 PM at the Crowne Plaza Union Station. She will also participate in the conference’s Preparing the Next Generation of Leaders Girls Forum, which is open to forty (40) teenage girls and will focus on mentoring, leadership and reputation safety.

Fourteen-year-old Mo’Ne Davis is the Little League sensation who became the first girl to earn a win and to pitch a shutout in Little League World Series history and the first Little League baseball player to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated as a Little League player.  In addition to participating in the Preparing the Next Generation of Leaders Girls Forum, she will speak during the 45th Anniversary Plenary Luncheon.

Joining Mo’Ne for remarks on Leadership through Sports is Starr Foster, Youth Development and High Performance Coach at Georgetown University. A tennis athlete, Starr received her first tennis racquet from tennis great Arthur Ashe. She gained a strong work ethics in sports not only from Arthur Ashe’s influential engagement on and off the court, but also from her father, Cincinnati Reds’ baseball legend, George Foster. Both of their influence served as a blue print for Starr's coaching method.
