Indiana State Trooper Catches Speeder Driving 135 Miles Per Hour On The Indiana Toll Road

LaGrange County-During the early morning hours of March 7, 2018, a Windsor, New York man found himself going to jail on reckless driving charges following a traffic stop by an Indiana State Trooper on the Indiana Toll Road.

Around 1:48 a.m. Trooper Matthew Drudge was sitting in the center median near the 112 mile marker observing traffic.  This is approximately 9 miles west of the Howe/LaGrange exit.  Drudge purportedly saw a white Chevrolet Malibu approaching eastbound at a very high rate of speed.  Drudge received a reading of 120 miles per hour on his radar.  The speed limit on the Indiana Toll Road is 70 miles per hour.

Drudge pulled out of the center median and began to catch up to the speeding Chevrolet. As he was catching up to the Chevrolet, he saw it follow too closely at times and make quick lane changes without a turn signal.  Drudge then paced the Chevrolet at 135 miles per hour, almost twice the speed limit.  Drudge then stopped the Chevrolet near the 122 mile marker.

The driver, identified as Kevin Fisher, age 33 of Windsor, New York, was arrested on a preliminary charge of Reckless Driving, C-Misdemeanor, and taken to the LaGrange County Jail.

*All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
