Public Hearing for Major Moves 2020 I-69 Expansion
FISHERS, Ind. – The
Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will hold a public hearing on
Thursday, March 19 at the Fishers City Hall Auditorium (One Municipal Drive,
Fishers, Indiana) at 6 p.m. to discuss adding travel lanes to Interstate 69 and
modifying the interchange at Southeastern/Campus Parkway (Exit 210).
INDOT proposes adding a
third travel lane to northbound and southbound I-69 inside the existing median
from State Road 37 (Exit 205) to at least State Road 13 (Exit 214) and adding
an outside auxiliary lane to southbound I-69 between 116th and 106th
streets.
The proposed project also
includes interchange modifications at Southeastern/Campus Parkway (Exit
210). Additional details about the interstate expansion and interchange
modification, including anticipated construction timelines and preliminary
design and maintenance of traffic proposals, will be presented in greater
detail at the public hearing.
Under
legislation enacted last year, Gov. Mike Pence’s Major Moves 2020 construction
program is investing an additional $400 million in state funds to expand
heavily-traveled sections of Indiana’s interstates to three lanes in each
direction.
