Crews Installing New Traffic Signals at IN 109 & 67th Street

The Indiana Department of Transportation has awarded a contract to install new traffic control signals at the intersection of State Road 109/South Scatterfield Road and 67th Street.

Morphey Construction Company's bid of $164,575 was the lowest among four bids received for the project.  Its plan is to begin work as soon as weather allows and to activate the new traffic signal before June. A specific date for the signal activation will be announced as work progresses.

Motorists should be alert for temporary traffic restrictions and flaggers in the area during non-peak hours as the new signals are installed.

The new traffic signals will feature flashing yellow arrow capabilities and accompanying signage will alert motorists:  "Left turn yield on flashing yellow arrow."

For more information about flashing yellow left-turn arrow signals is available on INDOT’s website at www.in.gov/indot/3202.htm.
