Welcome to the first
edition of the Indiana Department of Veterans’ Affairs monthly Newsletter. We
see this newsletter as a way to keep you informed of the activities of IDVA and
also highlight current events in the veteran community around the state.
If you know of events that should be included in
future newsletters, please feel free to share with our staff. Also, if you know of
others who would enjoy receiving this newsletter, I hope you will pass it
on. The information on how to subscribe is on the bottom of each issue.
We are honored to continue to serve Indiana’s
veterans and their families, and we are committed to ensuring our veterans
receive the benefits they have earned through their service to our great
Nation. These are challenging times, but we are dedicated to the task at hand,
and we will succeed in our mission to serve you.

Governor Mike Pence was recently joined by state leaders from the American Veterans, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Their meeting consisted of celebrating the partnership Indiana and the Big Four have, as well as a discussion on legislative and administrative accomplishments that have taken place during the first three years of the Pence administration.

In January 2016, the Indiana Veterans' Home was named as a 5-Star Facility - the highest possible rating! This was an increase from the previous rating of 4-Stars.
