Crews have finished the mainline concrete paving and are starting to pave the turn lanes and some other small sections. The contractor is installing permanent asphalt and temporary pavement to prepare for the next traffic switch. The bike path is progressing and has begun to take shape. In the picture below you can see that it has been graded and aggregate is being placed and compacted in advance of paving.
A shift in the traffic pattern is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 17. On southbound Alleghany Road, traffic will be reduced to a single lane at the intersection, accommodating both right and left turns. Please use caution when driving through the construction zone. Watch for trucks and equipment entering and leaving the job site.
