The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) has two major projects currently in progress on Peterson Road in central Lake County. This construction update will focus on the project to widen Peterson
Road from IL Route 83 to Alleghany Road. The other Peterson Road project, IL Route 83 to Franklin Boulevard, is nearly complete.

LCDOT is currently in Stage 1 of construction on this project. The most recent activity at the site is the construction and paving of the westbound lanes. Paving for the new lanes started last week and there is a video posted on the LCDOT Facebook page.

Description: Peterson Road will be reconstructed to a divided four-lane (two lanes in each direction) concrete pavement. The intersection at Alleghany Road will be improved and Alleghany Road will be resurfaced from Peterson Rd to south of IL Route 120. An asphalt bike path will be installed along the north side of Peterson Rd with new tree plantings and other landscape improvements.
Limits: Peterson Road starting 550 feet west of IL Route 83 to 0.5 miles west of Alleghany Road in the Village of Grayslake and Unincorporated Fremont Township. Alleghany Road from Peterson Road to just south of IL Route 120
