Help Stop Burglaries in Evanston with Some Simple Steps
UNLOCKED DOORS & WINDOWS=AN INVITATION TO STEAL
The
Evanston Police Department has recently received numerous reports of burglaries. Those include car break-ins, garages and even residential homes. A vast majority of
these incidents had unlocked doors or points of entry at the time of occurrence. Some of the most
commonly stolen items are: backpacks, gym bags, briefcases, cash/coins,
wallets, purses, portable GPS navigation systems, cell phones, lap top computers, flat
screen televisions and jewelry.
Locking
your car door, house door, windows and garage door can go a long way in preventing
a burglary. Keep valuables out of site in a vehicle and if possible, do not keep
expensive items that are desirable to a thief in your car. Such items are smart phones, lap tops
and cameras.
