Greetings!

Dear Friends,

As a reminder, our next 2nd Ward meeting is Thursday, November 13 at 7 p.m. at the J.E.H. Education Center, 1500 McDaniel Ave. An agenda for the meeting is below. The meeting will include an opportunity to meet Valli Produce store owner Frank Chilelli, as well as the property managers of Evanston Plaza, Frank and Tracy Schwab. Assistant City Manager/CFO Martin Lyons will also be on hand to discuss the City's Proposed 2015 Budget, as well as provide an overview and update on the Evanston Plaza TIF.

Please share this information! My goal is to keep all neighbors in our ward informed about upcoming events and opportunities they can benefit from. Evanston Police & Fire Foundation 3rd Annual Chief's Luncheon Friday, November 14

EPFF Chief's Luncheon

On Friday, November 14, join the Evanston Police & Fire Foundation (EPFF) for its 3rd annual Chief’s Luncheon at the Hilton Garden Inn Chicago North Shore/Evanston. The event opens with a reception at 11:30 a.m., followed by the scheduled program and lunch at 12:30 p.m.

The luncheon benefits the EPFF Fund used to enhance public safety delivery across Evanston and acknowledge community leaders who have made significant contributions to public safety throughout the city. The cost to attend is $75. Purchase tickets >>>


Sammic Grand Opening November 17-21

European food service manufacturer Sammic has opened its US headquarters at 1225 Hartrey Ave. Join me in celebrating Sammic's “Grand Opening” next week, November 17-21. There will be an open house all week, as well as a special evening event on Wednesday, November 19, at 6 p.m.


Celebrate Evanston Entrepreneurship Week November 17-23

Evanston Entrepreneurship Week

Evanston is joining Global Entrepreneurship Week, the global celebration of innovators and job creators. From November 17-23, Evanston Entrepreneurship Week will introduce activities each day to showcase the rising tide of entrepreneurial activity in Evanston, including the Evanston Edge Startup Showcase on Tuesday, November 18 and the "Ladies Who Launch" event on Wednesday, November 19. The Chris Greene Quartet at Jazz-Play Studio Thursday, November 20

The Chris Greene Quartet

Tenor Saxophonist Chris Greene and his quartet will perform the 5th Salon Concert at Jazz-Play Studio, located at Space 900 at 1042 Wesley Ave., at 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 20. Chris and the group will play music from his new album, Music Appreciation, which is enjoying critical acclaim. As always, Jazz-Play Studio offers you a special opportunity to experience live music in a very intimate setting surrounded by beautiful art. I invite all community members to support local businesses and get their holiday shopping started in Downtown Evanston with the Holiday Tree Lighting on Small Business Saturday on Sat., Nov. 29. Take advantage of special offers, discounts and more in shops, cafés and restaurants in Downtown Evanston throughout the day, and then stay downtown and kick off the holiday celebrations with the Holiday Tree Lighting.
