Please join me for our next 2nd Ward meeting on Thursday, September 11 at 7 p.m. at the J.E.H. Education Center, 1500 McDaniel Ave. Please note that a special "How to Get Your Alley Paved Workshop" will be offered at 6:30 p.m., followed by our regularly scheduled ward meeting. An agenda for the meeting is below.

9/11 Memorial Ceremony on Thursday, September 11

Fire Memorial

On Thursday, Sept. 11, at 7:30 a.m., the Evanston Fire and Police Departments will hold a memorial ceremony at Firemen's Park to honor those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. The City will also recognize the brave men and women of the U. S. Armed Forces who have lost their lives, as well as honor those who continue to fight the war on terror.

“Coffee with a Cop” builds upon the Evanston Police Department’s community policing efforts within the city and provides a casual space for community members to chat with officers to ask questions, share concerns, or simply say "hello." More >>>


Hispanic Heritage Month Kick-off Celebration on Saturday, September 20

Hispanic Heritage Month

The City of Evanston and Latino Resources will kick off Hispanic Heritage Month with a celebration of Hispanic culture on Sat., Sept. 20, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Robert Crown Center. Experience Hispanic art, music, food, dancing and more! This event is free and open to all ages. More >>>


Friday, October 3 is the Deadline to Apply for the Evanston Scholars Program

Friday, October 3 is the deadline for ETHS Juniors to apply for Evanston Scholars, a college readiness and support program aimed at helping ambitious, first generation, low-income Evanston youth graduate from college. Starting in 11th grade and continuing through college graduation, the program offers mentors, workshops, college visits, ACT preparation, and individual college counseling. Learn more and apply >>>

Please save the date for a citywide meeting for Spanish-speaking residents on Sun., Oct. 5, 2:30 p.m., at St. Nicholas Church's Oldershaw Hall. The meeting will take place during Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs September 15 through October 15. Additional details will follow.
