4th Ward News: Streets Alive! on Main St. this Sunday

This Sunday: Evanston "Streets Alive!" on Main St.
This Sun., Sept. 7, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., the City of Evanston will close down a mile of Main St. to motor vehicles and instead open it up to food, music, activities and more during its biggest block party ever, "Streets Alive!"
Presented by the City of Evanston and environmental nonprofit Citizens' Greener Evanston, "Streets Alive!" will feature a variety of activities for all ages, including talent shows, limbo, hoola-hooping, sidewalk chalk art, basketball challenge games, badminton, a giant chess board, an imagination playground, local performing artists, food trucks and plenty of open space.
Please note: Beginning at 11 a.m., Main St., from Hinman Ave. to Dodge Ave., and Custer Ave., from Washington St. to Main St., will be closed to motor vehicles. Temporary "No Parking" restrictions will be in effect beginning at 10 a.m. Traffic and parking will return to normal following the event clean-up.
