2nd Ward eNewsletter

2nd Ward Header

Greetings!

Dear Friends,

I hope this newsletter finds you well. As always, my goal is to keep all neighbors in our ward informed about city news, upcoming events and opportunities they can benefit from. If you have any questions, concerns or comments, please feel free to contact me directly at pbraithwaite@cityofevanston.org, or 847-801-9386.

This Saturday, April 26, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Evanston will host a citywide "Community Clean-up." Individual volunteers and community groups can sign up to help clean up any of 10 different sites across Evanston. Free green refuse bags are also available to residents at locations across the city for those who wish to clean up their own property or neighborhood. Read more about the "Community Clean-up" and other upcoming events, meetings and opportunities below.

As a reminder, I host ward meetings on the 2nd Thursday of each month. Ward meetings are your opportunity to share concerns and discuss issues that impact our ward and the greater community. Our next meeting will be held on Thursday, May 8, 7 p.m., at the J.E.H. Education Center/School District 65, 1500 McDaniel Ave. I hope you can join us!

I ask that you please spread the word in the community about this newsletter. If you or someone you know would like to be added to this newsletter, please follow the link: cityofevanston.org/newsletter.

Thank you and take care,

Ald. Peter Braithwaite

Busy Month for Evanston's Newest Electric Vehicle Charging Station

Electric Vehicle Charging Station

Evanston residents and visitors were heavy users of the City’s newest electric car charging station during its first month of service.

From February 22 through March 22, the dual connection charging station installed in the Maple Avenue Garage, located at 1800 Maple Ave., was used for nearly 80 individual charging sessions. The average session lasted three hours and users received a notification when their car was fully charged.

2nd Ward Alderman Peter Braithwaite encouraged City staff to install the first of the latest generation stations in the Maple Avenue Garage. Braithwaite said, “Due to the prime location of the Maple Parking Garage, guests from the adjacent Hilton Garden Inn and visitors to the nearby shops and entertainment venues can charge their vehicles while they spend time and money in downtown Evanston.” More >>>
