2nd Ward March eNewsletter

2nd Ward Header

Greetings!

Dear Friends,
I hope this newsletter finds you well. As always, my goal is to keep all neighbors in our ward informed about upcoming events and opportunities they can benefit from. If you have any questions, concerns or comments, please feel free to contact me directly at pbraithwaite@cityofevanston.org, or 847-801-9386.

The City is working hard to connect Evanston residents with jobs within the community. Several exciting opportunities are coming up, including a Workforce Development Program open call on March 29, and the Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program job fair on April 19. See details about these events and more below, and please spread the word!

As a reminder, I host ward meetings on the 2nd Thursday of each month. Ward meetings are your opportunity to share concerns and discuss issues that impact our ward and the greater community. In light of School District 65's April spring break schedule, our next meeting will be held on Thursday, May 8. I hope you can join us!

I ask that you please spread the word in the community about this newsletter. If you or someone you know would like to be added to this newsletter, please follow the link: www.cityofevanston.org/newsletter.

Thank you and take care,

Ald. Peter Braithwaite

Beware of Misleading Electricity Supplier Solicitations

Plug

Some Evanston residents have reported receiving a call from a telemarketer claiming that their electricity contract is “about to expire,” and that a new supplier must be selected. These suppliers do not represent the City of Evanston, nor are they affiliated with the City’s Community Choice Electricity Aggregation program. No party representing the City’s electricity aggregation program will call customers to request their account numbers or any other personal information.

In April 2013, the City selected Verde Energy USA as Evanston's electricity supplier for the second year of its program, providing residents with 100 percent renewable electricity at a rate of 5.192 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) through August 2014.

If residents are satisfied with the program, there is no need to take any action. More >>>
