EVANSTON POLICE ARE CURRENTLY INVESTIGATING A ROBBERY OF AN 80 YEAR OLD VICTIM

Evanston Police are currently investigating a strong arm robbery that occurred today at approximately 11:15AM. The victim, a female Evanston resident, age 80 had just left the Charter One Bank at Main St. & Chicago Ave. and while walking westbound on Main St. near Custer Ave. was approached by an offender who forcibly took the woman’s purse she was carrying. The victim was not injured during the incident.

 

The offender, described as male/black, 18 to 22 years of age, wearing a hooded sweatshirt. The offender after taking the victim’s purse fled with two other subjects on foot into the north alley of Main St. and entered a vehicle which fled the area.
