Featuring Corky Siegel & Lynne Jordan
Join the Levy Senior Center Foundation for the inaugural virtual Jamming Jean concert on Friday, December 4 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. featuring LSCF favorites Corky Siegel and Lynne Jordan.
Corky Siegel is known internationally as one of the worlds great blues harmonica players, blues pianist, singer and writer of unusual songs, a Chamber Blues progenitor and sole pioneer/composer of award-winning revolutionary works that weave blues and classical forms together.
Though Chicago brims with classic blues and jazz divas, Lynne Jordan stands apart. Not only do her soaring vocals dip effortlessly into blues, jazz, funk, rock, and even country but her bawdy personality wins over any crowd. Free admission, but registration is required. Register today.
Intro to American Sign Language
In this program you'll learn the history of American Sign Language (ASL), deaf culture, and the basics of sign language, such as the alphabet, numbers, greetings, family, and other common sayings. This course will include opportunities for you to learn and practice the language in each class through activities, games, and presentations. Emily Kulacz is an ASL teacher at Evanston Township High School, with a background in Deaf Education. Students will need to have a google account to share and view documents and learning resources. This program will be presented via Zoom only. Register online or by calling the Levy Senior Center at 847-448-8250.
