Rules of the Road
The Levy Senior Center and the Illinois Secretary of State’s office have partnered to offer the Illinois Rules of the Road class via Zoom on Fri., July 10, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Presented by Secretary of State instructors, this free class includes safe driving techniques and a review of Illinois driving laws to prepare for the written driver’s test. Did your driver’s license expire during the COVID-19 pandemic? Questions about renewing driver licenses and license plate stickers will be answered. No registration is necessary. Class materials are available for free download.

Senior Medicare Patrol Workshops
The Levy Senior Center partnered with AgeOptions and the Evanston Public Library to offer free virtual workshops on Medicare fraud and scams. This four-part lecture series is open to all Medicare beneficiaries. You may attend one or all.

Fri., July 10, 1 p.m.: Learn more about Senior Medicare Patrol and what you can do to protect, detect and report Medicare fraud.
Fri., July 17, 1 p.m.: Learn to read your Medicare Summary Notice to make sure it matches with the services they have provided to you. Understand why it is important to use it as a tool to prevent Medicare fraud.
Fri., July 24, 1 p.m.: Identify the different types of Medicare scams and how they have been happening actively in the community.
Fri., July 31, 1 p.m.: Learn ways to protect yourself from Medicare Fraud when you are out in the community or at your own home.
 July Curbside Craft: Paper Cactus
Each month we will prepare a craft for you to make from the comfort of your home. Home supplies needed: scissors, Elmer's glue, and hot glue if you have it. Additional supplies can be picked up at the Levy Senior Center on Fri., July 24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of the building. Please stay in your car and a staff member will bring the supplies out to you. Register online or by phone. We will email you the Zoom link to have instructor time.

Science with Seniors
Each month, graduate students from Northwestern University “visit” the Levy Senior Center to discuss different science topics. This month two topics will be discussed on Thurs., July 16 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.:
- Intersectionality: A Critical Paradigm for Understanding Identity
- Evolutional Arm Race: Why are Antibiotics not Killing Bacteria Anymore? & Antibiotic Resistance and Future Treatment of Infections by "Superbugs."
