As we navigate this challenging time, there is an opportunity to reflect on what we can learn from the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a reminder that we share one planet. It is a reminder that, despite our differences from any one person, we all have more in common than not.
Our local government is focused on, and continuously preparing for contingencies. We are fortunate to live in a community blessed with resources, but it is what happens in the community that will have the most impact on how this plays out. Abide by instructions and directives. Be available to help if called upon. Respect the fact that your mild illness could be shared with someone else who may be more gravely impacted. The heroic act may be the decision to stay home for 14 days if you are ill.
Be smart, stay strong, be Evanston.
