Evanston Beaches Open Saturday!

Evanston beaches open for the 2019 season this Sat., May 25! Beach hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Fri., June 7, and 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. June 8 through Labor Day. Beaches will be open on Memorial Day. A season token or daily pass is required for admission for anyone age 1 or older.

2019 season beach tokens are available at a discounted rate of $26 for Evanston and Skokie residents and $42 for non-residents through Fri., June 7. A beach token provides an individual with admission to all Evanston beaches for the entire season.

Evanston residents can also take advantage of free beach days at Clark Street Beach on Mondays, July 8 through August 26.

Summer Camps Begin June 11

Drop-in Activities Available On Monday, June 10

Summer campers


Due to the Mon., June 10 makeup day for ETHS, Evanston summer camps originally scheduled to start on June 10 will instead begin on Tues., June 11. To assist community members seeking childcare on June 10, the City is offering free drop-in programming for children ages 6 to 12 years old from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Chandler-Newberger Community Center and Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center. Registration is required. Community members should register for activity number 622901-A9 for Chandler-Newberger Center programs and activity number 422901-A9 for Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center programs. 

In addition, all Evanston public swimming beaches will be free on Mon., June 10.

Starlight Concerts Begin June 4!

Evanston's 2019 Starlight Concert Series will feature nine free outdoor concerts at park locations throughout Evanston! Concerts take place on Tuesdays, June 4 through July 30, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Interactive family activities are offered before each concert starting at 6 p.m. View the schedule.

Play Beach Volleyball this Summer!

Adult Beach Volleyball League
Mondays and Wednesdays, June 10 through August 28, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Come play co-ed beach volleyball at Clark Street Beach and enjoy a fun, relaxed atmosphere! Six-person recreational level and four-person advanced level leagues are available. Register online or in person at any recreation facility. Teams registering must pay the entire fee in order to hold a spot. For more details, please contact Michelle Bush at mbush@cityofevanston.org

Co-Ed Team Singles Tennis League
Mondays, June 10 through July 29, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Join us this summer for the Monday night co-ed Singles Team League! Courts will be divided by level. All levels are welcome. For more information, please contact Ken Herrmann at etowntennis@att.net. Matches are played at Leahy Park, located on Lincoln Street west of Ridge Avenue.
