Improve the Safety of Your Vehicle

CarFit

Wednesday, May 1, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Does your leg go to sleep when you drive? Is there any way to minimize those nerve-racking blind spots? What can happen if you sit too close to the steering wheel? Find answers to these questions and check the fit of your vehicle at the Levy Senior Center’s inaugural CarFit event on Wednesday, May 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the James Park parking lot. The free event focuses on driving safety and comfort for older drivers, but licensed drivers of all ages are welcome. Bring yourself and your vehicle up to the check point and CarFit technicians will provide educational information and will check how well your vehicle “fits” you. Technicians will also check tire pressure, treads and lights at no cost to you. No registration necessary; just bring your car to the James Park parking lot.

Spring Cleaning Appraisal

Flea Market

Monday, May 20, 10 a.m. to noon

It's that infamous time again: spring cleaning time! You might be feeling overwhelmed and not sure whether to keep or toss those items sitting under an inch of dust, but here's the thing: You just don't know if there's any value in that old magazine or Hummel figurine! This class is designed to help you determine if you should keep, donate, sell or trash those items. Everything But The House invites you to bring one "pocket-sized" piece of undetermined value and receive guidance. This event is free of charge for Levy members. Please register at the front desk or call the Levy Senior Center at 847-448-8250.
