North of Chicago: African American Communities

Dino Robinson

Levy Lecture Series
Tuesday, March 12 at 1 p.m.

Join us for a special presentation from Dino Robinson on African American history on Chicago's North Shore. By day, Dino Robinson is the production manager at Northwestern University Press. His independent research led to the establishment of Shorefront, an organization he pioneered in 1995 that documents the African American experience on the North Shore.

Through Shorefront, Robinson has written three books, hosted lectures, assembled several traveling exhibits, and built its archives from a few news clippings to more than 200 linear feet of photographs and historical documents available to scholars and the public.
