When She Had Wings

Experience Downtown Evanston's Hygge Fest (say: Hue-Gah) with special programs for children:

When She Had Wings: A Theater and STEM Event. Northwestern's Imagine U theater performs a scene from  When She Had Wings, by Suzan Zeder. Then you and your child (K through 5th grade) can experiment with flight technology! Theatre and science and fun! Saturday, February 16, 2 pm, Children's Room, Main Library

Family Storytime and Craft: Hygge Time. Listen to stories, roll beeswax candles, create family love notes together! For ages 2-7. Monday, February 18, 6:30 pm, Children's Room, Main Library

Winter Reading

Winter Reading. Register your child, age 0 to 3, at any library location or online and receive a Winter Reading Log. Read or talk about the pictures together to develop crucial early literacy skills. After 14 days of reading, come back to the library for a free book. Through February

The Evanston Northwestern Humanities Lecture Series presents: From Protest to Politics: African Americans, the 1960 Campaign, and the Election of JFK. Brett Gadsden, Associate Professor of History at Northwestern, discusses African Americans who served on the 1960 campaign and helped Kennedy win the black vote and—by extension—the American Presidency.
