Demitrous Cook Appointed as Police Chief

Evanston City Manager Wally Bobkiewicz on Tuesday announced the appointment of Demitrous Cook as Evanston police chief. Cook, who previously served 26 years at the Evanston Police Department, including six years as deputy police chief, returns to Evanston from the Glenwood Police Department where he has been chief of police since 2010. Chief Cook's appointment is effective Wed., Jan. 2, 2019.

Enjoy 'The Nutcracker On Ice' this Weekend!

The 44th annual production of Robert Crown Community Center's "The Nutcracker on Ice" returns this weekend, December 14 through 16! Performances are Friday at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Tickets may be purchased in advance online or at the door for $9, general seating and $10, reserved. Tickets may also be purchased by phone with a major credit card at 847-448-8258.
