EPL Storytelling Festival this Weekend!

Celebrate the art and power of storytelling at the 4th annual Evanston Public Library Storytelling Festival! The festival will take place Fri., Oct. 19 through Sun., Oct. 21 at the main Evanston Public Library and nearby venues in downtown Evanston. All events are free.

Celebrate Halloween in Evanston! Events include a Spooktacular Fright Night at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, a Preschool Halloween Party at Robert Crown Center, and much more. Evanston's official trick-or-treat hours are 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wed., Oct. 31.

'It's the Great Pumpkin Compost' November 3

Rescue your Halloween pumpkins and jack-o’-lanterns from withering on the front porch or ending up in the landfill by participating in the City's 3rd annual “It's the Great Pumpkin Compost” collection event on Sat., Nov. 3, 9 a.m. to noon, in the parking lot of the Morton Civic Center. Community members can also dispose of plain, clean pumpkins in their City of Evanston food and yard waste cart.

Special City Council Meeting - Budget 10/27

A special City Council meeting and public hearing on the 2019 Budget will be held on Sat., Oct. 27, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Morton Civic Center. Community members are also invited to meet with City Manager Wally Bobkiewicz and staff to provide their comments and feedback at meetings throughout the city next week.

Early voting and voter registration will be available at the Morton Civic Center, Room G300, beginning this Mon., Oct. 22 through Mon., Nov. 5. Election Day is Tues., Nov. 6.
