Celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day Saturday!

Ecology activities


Celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day with free, family-friendly festivities and nature play at the Evanston Ecology Center this Sat., April 21, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Bike repairs will be available on site, and a tree planting ceremony will take place at the Ladd Arboretum at 10 a.m.

Tour the Evanston Water Treatment Facility

On Sat., May 12, the City's Water Production Bureau will provide two tours of the Evanston Water Treatment Facility on a first-come, first-served basis. The first tour will be given from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for residents 15 years and older. A second "child friendly" tour will follow from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for residents with children age 6 years or older. Space is limited. Register by Wed., May 9.
